AfrikaBurn 2027 — The Big Question

South Africa’s Burning Man regional: a week building Tankwa Town in the Karoo. Not a music festival.

Dates

Where
Quaggafontein, Tankwa Karoo, South Africa
Hosted by
AfrikaBurn
Capacity
10,000+

About

Thousands of participants build a temporary city from scratch on a remote patch of the Tankwa Karoo: experimental art, theme camps, workshops and performances, mutant vehicles and unexpected encounters. There are no headline acts, no food stalls and nothing for sale except ice — and no programme telling you where to be. The 2027 theme is a question in itself: The Big Question.

Why now

2027 tickets are on sale on Quicket: Ground Up R3,499 (7,500 available) and New Horizon R5,499 with a R2,000 donation (2,500). Subsidised and Anathi applications close 4 December 2026.
